  Join us for an evening of great food, conversations, and a friendly, low-stakes game of poker in San Diego!

  Please note: you must bring physical money in small bills in order to participate in the poker game. (i.e. $1, $5, and $10 dollar bills.)

  As always, this is a MEMBERS-ONLY event.
  All Startup Haven events are exclusively for our founder and investor members. Please do not bring uninvited guests. If you know a founder or investor whom you think would meet the Startup Haven member requirements, please make an intro and we'll get them set up.

  Founders Dinner and Startup Poker 2.0 have been running continuously for more than 18 years. If you are new to the Startup Haven network, you should know that this is a fun, very-low-stakes poker game and that we embrace diversity, open conversations, and learning. Playing in the poker game is not required; but it is a ton of fun and you might just win some cash and/or a cool sponsor prize!
  

  If you're new to these events, please familiarize yourself with the details by reviewing the Startup Haven Event Basics web page and make sure to bring cash. Beginner poker players are encouraged to attend! This is a nice, friendly game of low stakes poker and the first buy-in starts at just $10. If you don't want to play poker, that's fine, too -- just come for dinner and conversations!

  If you are sick, or have loved ones that are vulnerable, please consider coming to future events instead.

  Just a reminder that, in the event that more than 40 attendees want to play poker, /Level 2 members will be settled first and then we will cut cards for the remaining seats.

  Venture Breakfast is the straightest line to relationships for founders and investors. Whether it's one table or one room, breaking bread, early in the morning, among peers, is a remarkable way to connect with others -- rapport is immediate, the conversations are intimate and the connections are real.

  The host for this event will be our Startup Haven's founder, Bob Crimmins.

  Here are a few things to know:

  • This event is by invitation only. Please do not bring uninvited guests. If you want to bring a co-founder or another founder, please contact us first so we can be sure to have enough seating.
  • This is not a pitch event. If you are fundraising and there are investors in attendance, do not attempt to pitch them at the event. The purpose of this event is to build relationships and to solve problems. Any investor who gets to know you personally will learn about your startup and will seek to learn more if they have an interest.
  • This event is participatory. Everyone in attendance will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and share a few words about what their startup does. Everyone is also encouraged to make an ask or an offer (or both).

  About Startup Haven

  Startup Haven was founded in 2006 by Bob Crimmins, a 4x-founder turned investor. Startup Haven Ventures is a pre-seed venture capital fund. In addition to direct investments, the Fund also invests through the Startup Haven accelerator program. The sole mission of Startup Haven is to help build relationships between founders and investors. There are currently 2,300 founder and investor members. Membership is free but there are additional, fully optional programs available for a modest cost.
